Your friends may have mentioned that "breastfeeding is hard" and what they mean is that breastfeeding requires work.

Amazing things, however, often come from hard work.

I know that you have what it takes to breastfeed your baby but I will never judge a parents choice.

I believe that a FED baby and a happy mom and family is best.

Hi, I’m Lisa

I have been interested in birth since I was 6 years old. It was at 6 that I remember finding out a friends mother was an OB/GYN and around the same time my little sister was born. It left an imprint that would greatly shape my adult life.

I now work as a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Women's Health providing prenatal care and caring for women throughout their life. I am also a wife and mother of three. I breastfed each of my kids and when you total it up I have spent 3.5 years of my life as a breastfeeding mom!

After spending years answering the questions of friends and patients on an individual level I realized that my personal and professional experience made me uniquely equipped to address the needs of expectant couples. I founded Sweet Pea to round out the prenatal experience and deliver this educational service in a patient friendly way.

Your prenatal visits are focused on monitoring your health and the well-being of your unborn baby. Couples however need so much more than blood pressure and weight checks to feel ready for the birth experience.

I strive to be your trustworthy resource and hope to instill you with the confidence you need to have the best birth possible.

“We really liked the class. Perfect overview and calmed my fears about a few things. Lisa had a very calming way she presented information that I’m sure put all us first time moms at ease. I can tell Lisa was probably a fantastic labor and delivery nurse. Lisa gave us good factual information with some personal stories along the way about her own experiences. Lisa was very effective in her teaching methods. Overall I would highly recommend this class to any first time mom.”

"My husband and I just finished all the online modules for childbirth and infant care, and we thought they were great! I'll be honest, I was a little nervous about whether we'd get the same kind of learning out of a virtual course as we would in person, but we really learned a ton -- the courses are very thorough, the visuals and demonstration videos were very helpful, and the platform is easy to use."
